Our very own globetrotter is constantly seeing some of the world’s most beautiful sights and he just so happens to be KM&A’s other fearless leader. Read more about Princess Peach…oh wait, we mean Drew Coomes.

What is your role at KM&A?

My role at KM&A is Executive VP and Partner. I oversee all of our operations and have an understanding of everything going on at KM&A. I also am in charge of administrative, accounting and HR tasks.

How long have you worked for KM&A?

I’ve been at KM&A since the beginning. I still can’t believe it’s been five years.

Before working at KM&A, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

All of my jobs have been interesting in one way or another.

What is your proudest moment at KM&A?

One of my proudest moments was moving into our current office downtown. Seeing all of the desks filled and the energy around the office was extremely rewarding.

What is the most challenging part of your job?

The most challenging part of my job is balancing the stress so that one situation doesn’t affect another. In other words, if something isn’t going well in one area for one reason or another, I can’t let that affect how I behave toward an employee or client.

Favorite quote?

“It doesn’t make sense to hire smart people and then tell them what to do, we hire smart people so they can tell us what to do.” Steve Jobs

How do you define success?

I define success as being happy and comfortable with the life that I’m living both personally and professionally.

What’s your coffee shop drink of choice?

Always black coffee. Never Starbucks black coffee. That’s not good coffee.

Clustertruck order?

Applewood Chicken Salad. It’s the same one they serve at Mesh on Mass Ave.

Do you have a favorite book?

Five Presidents by Clint Hill and Lisa McCubbin

What’s the first thing on your bucket list?

I want to sail around the world. I think it would be amazing to take a year or two and travel on a small boat to see everything that the world has to offer.

What will you do when you get home today?

This happens about once a month, but sometimes I really enjoy an evening of relaxation. I’ll go home and make a real cup of espresso with my badass espresso machine. I’ll then sit down on the couch and relax for three consecutive hours. Sometimes I’ll turn on the TV and watch the news, 60 minutes or other educational shit. Most nights, though, I can be found at a nice restaurant enjoying a meal and drinks with friends or clients.

What was the best concert you ever attended?

I’m very fortunate in that 70% of the concerts I go to are not the average way of going to a concert. The coolest experience that I’ve ever had was the U2 concert in Miami, Florida. I got to go backstage and then watch from the main audience.

Drew is constantly on the go and so are we with these spotlights! Up next: KM&A’s very own Gossip Girl, K. Fole.
