How to Stay Active at Your Desk JobSeptember 13, 2019
Conference Reflections: INBOUND 2019October 2, 2019
We recently sat down with KM&A’s resident Michigander and go-to girl for wine recommendations, Liz Giffen. From her favorite place in the world to her coffee order, read more on why we love Lizzard Queen.
What is your role at KM&A?
What is your favorite part about working at KM&A?
I love the variety of clients that I get to work with. One minute I’ll be working on print ads for a sustainable farm and the next I’m strategizing for a steel company. Every day is different, which is always fun and challenging.
What characteristics do you need to be successful in your role?
Someone in this role needs to have strong interpersonal skills, a tactical and strategic mindset, the ability to multitask and a willingness to be adaptable.
Before working at KM&A, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve had?
In high school, I worked at Dairy Queen for four years and I also was a beer cart girl at a golf course. I would be a professional beer cart girl for the rest of my life if I could.
Buffalo Chicken Wrap with fries.
What is on your bucket list?
I really like to travel and the next two on my list are seeing the Northern Lights and visiting Amsterdam. Oddly enough, I’d also like to write a book. I’m not sure the topic, but it’s something that I’ve always wanted to do.
I’ve recently been enjoying cold brew with a splash of cream. I’ve also been known to be a frequent flyer at the office espresso machine.
Favorite place in the world?
It’s lame and cheesy, but I’m happiest anywhere that I’m surrounded by the people that I love.
Any hidden talents?
My dog, Toby, has a lot of tricks. Personally, I know how to tap dance. I danced for 11 years as a kid.
What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
As a child, it was always my goal to be a broadcast journalist. The dream began when I was the weather girl for our middle school’s channel.
That’s all for now, folks! We hope you enjoyed learning more about Liz. Stay tuned for our next spotlight, Jerry Kauth.
