5 Significant Rebrands of 2019: A Designer’s PerspectiveFebruary 13, 2020
You may have seen this Danville Dairy Fairy jogging on the streets of Indianapolis or maybe at some of the hottest wine spots that the city has to offer. Regardless, this fightin’ Irish fan and kombucha-lover brings spice and grit to our team that we’d be lost without out. Read along, friends!
What is your role at KM&A?
I recently transitioned from the social media manager to an account manager. As an account manager, I oversee a few accounts and ensure that everything is running smoothly.
How long have you worked for KM&A?
I just celebrated my four year anniversary. I can’t believe it! I’m actually the longest employee at KM&A, besides Drew and Steve.
Before working at KM&A, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
I was a Dairy Fairy at the Danville Dairy Queen. Here’s the thing – this was a true hometown Dairy Queen with no corporate supervision. We had the freedom to do a lot of fun things and we even made our own Dilly Bars.
What is the proudest moment at KM&A?
I’m really proud of the work that I did for one of our clients at the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil. This included activation events and being in charge of all the deliverables for May.
What’s the most challenging part of your job?
I’d say one of the biggest challenges is balancing what the client needs versus what they want. It’s my job as an account manager to know the bandwidth of our team and execute on marketing needs that we believe will best benefit our clients.
What is your favorite quote?
“Attitude reflects leadership.”
Steve calls me Malaria or Maria. It all just depends on my mood.
How do you define success?
I feel successful when a client is happy. A client’s attitude will always reflect how we did and when they’re happy, everyone is happy.
What’s your coffee shop drink of choice?
Large black coffee. I have no room for cream.
I’ve recently changed my order to the Burrito Bowl. Clustertruck got rid of my OG favorite, the chicken broccoli bowl.
What’s your favorite movie?
Remember the Titans.
What is on your bucket list?
I’d love to cage dive with sharks.
Favorite sports team?
Notre Dame, baby!
What will you do when you get home today?
I enjoy working out and find that it’s the best de-stressor. So, after work, I’ll go to the gym and run about five miles.
Malia is KM&A’s hype girl and we’re appreciative of all the work that she does. Speaking of appreciative, watch out for our next employee spotlight. Our director of services is the bomb dot com.
