Are your followers ghosting you? Followers expect more and more from brands each day. Keep reading to learn how to re-engage your audience. The following tips will empower your brand to create audience interaction: encouraging conversation, sharing usergenerated content, hosting giveaways, sharing interactive content and creating community content. 

 

Encourage Conversation 

Keep your audience involved! Encourage your audience to like, comment and share. For example, ask followers to comment on their favorite product you provide and why. Don’t be afraid to make it fun! A brand could ask its audience to drop an emoji that represents how they’re feeling on that given day. Don’t forget to reply to comments. Remind followers you and your team are people too! One conversation could turn a curious viewer into a valued customer. 

 

Share UGC 

User-generated content (UGC) is relatable, inspirational and memorable to your audience. But, what is user-generated content? Let us give you the deets. UGC is posting content created by others, oftentimes consumers of your product/service, while giving the creator credit. UGC takes a step back from the brand’s usual posts and evokes authenticity. Recommending audiences to get creative and share this type of content allows them to feel involved with your brand. You have probably participated in UGC and didn’t even know it! Depending on the brand’s product/service, followers can use UGC to inspire the way they use your offerings. The Business Wire tells us that 56% of consumers want to see UGC photos and videos from brands. Give the people what they want! It gets better; user-generated content is more memorable than advertisement-based posts. KM&A recently promoted UGC for a client’s brand, inviting viewers to tag us and use a specific hashtag for sharing their amazing content. Mixing up your content with UGC is sure to engage your audience, even some of those ghosting you! This leads into our next topic: giveaways! 

 

Host Giveaways

Interested in extending your reach? Hosting giveaways may be your answer. Giveaways on social media involve a brand giving something away to followers in return for entering the giveaway. To enter, followers often must follow, tag friends or share on their social media stories. How does this benefit the brand? Your followers are advertising your brand name within the giveaway, extending your reach! Tagged friends may have similar interests and values to the follower, creating an opportunity for the friend to connect to the brand. Prize giveaways can be simple or intricate, it’s up to you! Whether it’s a product giveaway or a getaway trip, it’s sure to get your audience involved. Keep in mind, what does your audience want? As we said, hosting giveaways may be the answer to extending your reach and attracting followers. 

 

Interactive Content 

While hosting giveaways are great for extending your reach, these aren’t posts brands make all the time. Posts you can make more often to interact with your audience are polls and surveys! Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and X are all great platforms to share interactive content. The polls can be related to products, services, trends or something fun! For example, an event planning service may show two venue locations and ask, “Which venue would you prefer?” Then brands can add a call to action (CTA), “If you’re interested in hosting your next event in one of these locations, give us a call or email today.” Don’t discount the potential of this interactive content, it gets your audience involved. 

 

Community Content 

Similar to interactive content, community content creates buzz among your followers. It’s important to get to know your community and collect opinions. For example, ask your audience for reviews and ratings. People trust people. Well, sometimes, but let’s be optimistic. User reviews can influence decisions and provide insights into your brand. Another way to get your community involved is by asking them for input. To gain insights from your viewers, try creating a poll or survey to ask your audience to choose between potential future products. Creating authentic conversation is key to community marketing. Host a place for your audience to connect whether it be the comment section or chat forum. Finding the right way for your brand to create community content may be half the battle. Every community is different, so at the end of the day remember what makes your customers interested in your product or service.
