Meet Our 3 New Fall Interns
Interns Brittany, Mary and Kaitlyn

Seasons are changing (unless you live near our Tampa office, where summer seems to exist almost year-round) which means we’ve welcomed a new group of interns to the KM&A team! This fall, we’ve brought on three impressive young professionals; Brittany Reed, Kaitlyn Luft and Mary Dziwlik.

Here at KM&A, our interns get to work with a range of clients, learn the ins and outs of their prospective industry and get a first-hand taste of agency life. Step into one of our offices and you’ll catch Brittany writing copy, Kaitlyn getting the scoop on our awesome clients and Mary planning an event.

We sat down and did a little Q&A with the new team to learn more about them and what they do at KM&A.

Intern Brittany

Brittany joined our communications team this past August and has been spending her time at the office writing blogs, crafting social media posts and assisting with the writing and editing of copy for our clients.

So far, Brittany has refined her communications skills in all aspects. Whether she’s editing Instagram reels, crafting a guide to writing clever content or putting together social media strategies for client events, Brittany has her copywriting cap on and a coffee in hand. In September, she was able to attend the TikTok World 2021 webinar where she learned the latest on TikTok advertising/trends and hopes to utilize them in future social media strategies.

When she’s not working on our next newsletter, you’ll find Brittany at the gym or tending to her 40+ plant collection … it’s a serious commitment.

Q: What college or university do you attend and what’s your major?

I graduated from the University of Tampa in May with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication (minors in journalism and public relations) and am currently getting my Master’s in Social and Emerging Media there as well!

Q: What skills do you want to develop during your time at KM&A?

I want to improve my social media management skills, learn more about SEO and enhance my copywriting abilities.

Q: Why did you choose to work with the communications team?

I’ve always been a writer, so the communications team seemed like the perfect fit for me! I’m excited for the opportunity to hone my skills and learn more about copywriting and communicating within the marketing industry.

Q: What are you most looking forward to during your internship?

I’m looking forward to experiencing agency life and working with a broad range of clients.

Q: What’s your local Tampa obsession?

Buddy Brew coffee. It’s a severe addiction.

Intern Kaitlyn

Meet Kaitlyn, our fall account intern. Kaitlyn is the account team’s go-to for anything involving client research or logistical support. She spends her days at the office attending client meetings and events, aiding in client presentations and supporting client work.

So far this semester, Kaitlyn has had the opportunity to attend the Delta Faucet Company Showroom Series and Pro events, where she was able to see the amazing result of all her pre-event client communication. During these events, Kaitlyn was able to gather client assets, put together sets and assisted the Delta Faucet and KM&A teams on production days. She was happy to meet the clients she had been working with as well as learn the day-to-day business operations of the account team.

In her free time, you can find Kaitlyn jamming out to Olivia Rodrigo or helping her mom bake … and by that we mean taste-testing her delicious creations!

Q: What college or university do you attend and what’s your major?

I’m a senior at Butler University and I’m majoring in Strategic Communication and Spanish with a minor in Marketing.

Q: What skills do you want to develop during your time at KM&A?

I hope to become a time management boss, since the life of someone on the account team is always insanely busy, and to learn how to communicate with clients using their industry-specific language.

Q: Why did you choose to work with the accounts team?

I want to learn everything about agency life, and the accounts team seemed like the best place to get hands-on experience working with our clients. Being a part of the accounts team is also completely different from my past internships, which were more focused on communication and creative aspects, so I wanted to explore a new territory and learn a lot of new skills.

Q: What are you most looking forward to during your internship?

I’m looking forward to working directly with clients and bringing our creative ideas to life, as well as continuing to attend the events we put on and meet clients face-to-face.

Q: What’s your local Indianapolis obsession?

La Piedad has been my go-to for Mexican food since freshman year! I’m literally always in the mood for their queso and margs.

Intern Mary

Our events intern, Mary has spent her time at KM&A attending client meetings, getting into the fine details of event planning, and providing Madelyn and Maddy, the rest of our savvy event staff, with logistical support and event execution.

Similar to Kaitlyn, Mary was able to put her events knowledge to the test at the Delta Faucet Company Showroom Series and Pro events, fully immersing herself in what an events professional’s day to day looks like. Mary spent her time on set assisting talent, putting sets together and watching the entire production process unfold before her. She enjoyed watching the production from start to finish and learned more about how scripts, slides and set play into the overall production impact.

When she’s not working with our incredible events team, you can find her on the edge of her seat watching horror movies or sipping on a McDonald’s Diet Coke … for some reason, McD’s soda just hits different.

Q: What college or university do you attend and what’s your major?

I’m a senior at Butler University and am majoring in Strategic Communications with a specialization in PR and Advertising.

Q: What skills do you want to develop during your time at KM&A?

I’d love to grow my event planning skills as a whole. I am hoping to be able to assist with an event from the planning stages to the execution and see how each aspect ties into creating an awesome final product for the client.

Q: Why did you choose to work with the events team?

I have a few previous experiences with events at a nonprofit, and I was interested to see what events in the agency world would be like. I was drawn to the KM&A events team because the environment is fast paced. I liked the idea of having the ability to be strategic and creative in the work I am contributing to as well.

Q: What are you most looking forward to during your internship?

I am eager to have hands on experiences and build relationships with the clients we are working with.

Q: What’s your local Indianapolis obsession?

Goodfellas Pizza is my all-time favorite local obsession! The breadsticks are ridiculously delicious. 10/10 recommend!
