Influencer marketing is all the rage right now, especially on Instagram. As a business, you should be taking advantage of influencers, who have the ability to bring brand awareness and catapult your engagement on social platforms. As a team, we have collectively seen how the power of an influencer can bring a fresh perspective and brand awareness to new audience segments.
As a team, KM&A is always looking for new ways to reinvigorate our client’s social media strategy. Recently, we developed and implemented an influencer program for our client, Joe’s Butcher Shop, in Carmel. Collectively, we noticed that our client’s social media following was lacking in engagement. With our research, we realized that influencer marketing had the potential to grow Joe’s Butcher Shop’s social media following and allow for growth in new audience segments.
Once we determined that we wanted to move forward with influencer marketing for our client, we began a search for an ideal influencer- one who shops locally, is a part of the Carmel/Zionsville area, and has the knowledge to promote products. KM&A identified an influencer, Torrie Hudson, who’s a great home chef and shopped at Joe’s. He was passionate about the products that Joe’s offers and had a solid following and creative website/platform to promote Joe’s.
Joe’s Butcher Shop began working with their first influencer in October of 2020. Since then, we have seen an increase in engagement and following for Joe’s, but additionally, for the influencer as well. From October until recently, Joe’s Butcher Shop grew followers by 20% on Instagram and an additional 4.1% on Facebook. The influencer, Torrie Hudson, also saw an increase in engagement with his own social media channels along with his website and has since created/launched a platform that he calls “Foodoir.” At the end of the day, an influencer partnership is a mutually beneficial relationship between a business and consumer. We have seen first-hand how the power of an influencer can reinvigorate a social media strategy, drive new business, and build brand awareness in new audience segments.
