0301 KMA QA Blog Graphic 01 Q&A: Our Kick-ass Account Coordinators

Let’s meet our Account Coordinators who handle the day-to-day tasks for our clients. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without them.

Having graduated from Franklin College with a degree in public relations, Taylor Smith is a first-generation graduate has put in the work and time to accomplish all of her goals. When she isn’t running social for all of KM&A’s clients, you can find her trying new restaurants around the city and squeezing in a few true crime documentaries.

Need advice on marketing? Elly is your go-to. A recent graduate from Anderson University with an MBA in marketing, this business guru and KM&A account coordinator is continually using her skillset to help build brands and support their content efforts. Not to mention, she created an entire onboarding process and mentorship program in her last gig. If you compliment her cat, Harvey, and talk non-stop Taylor Swift – you may have a new best friend.

Describe your career in 5 words or less.

Taylor: Foster strong relationships and connections

Elly: Strategic, personable, meaningful, creating value

Why do you enjoy working for KM&A?

Taylor: Our team truly allows you to be yourself. I think it’s rare that you wake up knowing that regardless of what the day throws at you, your team encourages you to approach each relationship, project or task being who you are. That’s what makes our team so strong and continues to succeed. We each have the ability to bring something fresh and unique to the table.

Elly: Since I started with KM&A as an intern back last year, I’ve been given the freedom to pursue different facets of marketing that interest me. Every day is different, the work can be time consuming but when you see positive impact for client’s it’s all worthwhile. We work hard but know how to have fun at the same time. KM&A has allowed me to grow professionally and personally.

What is something you’re proud you have accomplished in your career so far?

Taylor: I am very proud to have been a first-generation graduate. A lot of hours went into building the career path that I have chosen, and I think the foundation of setting my mind to that accomplishment has got me to where I am.

Elly: I think one thing I’m most proud of over the last year, is being a part of a kick-ass team that has brought creativity, innovation, and strategic initiatives to our client’s as the world was pivoting. Specifically, executing successful virtual events for clients such as Delta Faucet and Allison Transmission. I’m also the first person in my family to graduate from college and continue on to pursue my Master’s. Everything I do, I aim to make my parents proud and to build a great career that I’m proud of.

When you’re not working, what are things you enjoy doing?
Taylor: Traveling, movies, music AND FOOD. I love learning new cultures, watching a great film, listening to music and trying new restaurants/dishes. I think a lot of those hobbies I enjoy doing intersect and if I can enjoy them with friends or family – it makes it that much better!

Elly: Anyone who knows me, knows that I spend a copious amount of time with my fur babies- two cats and a recent puppy. There’s nothing better than having live-in best friends. I’m also a die-hard Taylor Swift fan, or a Swiftie. Since I’ve been spending a lot of time at home (thank you pandemic), watching anything sports related (Go Notre Dame!) and Netflix originals. I also occasionally pick up a good book.
