Fowler Avenue Gridiron Golf Classic: Coach’s Dinner and Golf Tournament.


Fowler Avenue, the University of South Florida’s NIL Collective, collaborated with KM&A to host their annual Gridiron Golf Classic to raise essential funds for student athletes. The goal was to foster engagement among USF supporters while providing a fun, interactive event that encouraged networking and partnership. Financially, Fowler Avenue challenged KM&A to raise over $100,000 with a starting budget of $0.


Two events took place in Tampa, FL, a dinner and an auction at the home of USF Head Football Coach Alex Golesh, followed by a golf tournament at TPC Tampa Bay the next day. KM&A managed both event’s coordination, including securing sponsors, curating auction items, designing signage and decor, coordinating registration, overseeing food and beverage services and handling budgeting.  

  1. Budget: Generous sponsorships covered key aspects of the event, including certain food and beverage items, signage and equipment, resulting in effective budgeting and cost management.  
  2. Food and Beverage: The dinner and auction were catered by Ford’s Garage and included a bartender. Golfers enjoyed lunch and various snacks from sponsors such as Outback Steakhouse, Glory Days Grill, Aramark and Detroit Wing Company. 
  3. Registration Site: KM&A created a dedicated registration website to assist golfers in signing up their teams for the event. Our team also handled check-in at both events. 
  4. Creative: KM&A oversaw digital invitations, information sheets and event signage to visually represent Fowler Avenue and event sponsors. 
  5. Venue: The Coach’s Dinner took place at Coach Golesh’s home, providing guests with an exclusive football experience and early access to exclusive auction items. The golf tournament was held at TPC Tampa Bay, offering an ideal course and environment for the event. Registration and lunch were hosted in the clubhouse for convenience.   
  6. Activities: With two games designed to boost donations, we created an exciting atmosphere at the golf course. In the first game, participants could win premium liquor bottles by successfully hitting them with a putt for a $25 donation. In the second game, players could bet on their ability to beat a member of the USF Men’s Golf team. The online auction featured football memorabilia including jerseys and helmets, as well as travel opportunities featuring golf trips, a yacht experience and even a trip with the team to their game against Alabama! 


The Gridiron Golf Classic exceeded expectations with strong participation in the golf tournament and a successful charity auction. Attendees praised the event’s organization and enjoyed a memorable experience. The combined efforts of both events resulted in an impressive fundraising total of over $120,000 for USF student athletes, a substantial increase from the previous year’s $80,000. KM&A’s comprehensive planning and execution played a vital role in achieving these outstanding results, helping Fowler Avenue support student athletes and deliver an unforgettable experience for all involved.
